I bought it so I could change the JLF spring, add some button plugs, and eventually change the art (possibly even get a custom plexi top with only six button holes), so I knew I wanted it to be easy to get in and out at all times.
The Razer Atrox, on the other hand, is built to make this easy on the gamer and will still maintain durability. Given the customizable nature of the stick, I could probably unscrew the logo’s housing and disable the LED, but that’s an added chore that I don’t want to worry about. The easy access to the inside in case you need to change buttons or mod it is a godsend. The manual, a welcome card, who cares let’s hook this thing up. Each button depresses with a satisfying click, and their sensitivity is top-notch, requiring only the lightest touch to activate. As I understand it, Steam games and other Non-Windows Store games don’t work with the Atrox. Any serious fighting game fan should own a premium fightstick. I’ll update this if I do. If you know you're going to want to open up your stick and mod pretty much anything easily, I'd go with this. If you want a solid, well-built, customizable arcade stick for Xbox One and PC (UWP apps), it’s hard not to recommend the Razer Atrox. One the positive side, it’s sufficiently long, locks into the stick to prevent any accidental disconnects, and features a breakaway cable that original Xbox owners will remember well. The overall sturdiness of the Atrox is wonderful. But it’s completely comfortable on a lap. I haven’t tried this to confirm it yet. I am in the process of returning. Unfortunately, the smart design also comes with one glaring problem; the cable itself is proprietary. Fast response, short/medium travel distance. Like the joystick, they return to rest position very quickly. The joystick’s spring return is strong but not overly. First, I have to make it clear that I am not a professional e-game athletic. Since Killer Instinct is cross-buy and cross-platform, it is the perfect test subject for me to try the Atrox on the PC. Suddenly, the Atrox has a purpose and an audience.
