Zoom in and look at them close. Thanks for your opinions and replies. The lack of a universal grid system, or any way to align grids, is a huge let down for those of us that want to build a park that isn't "sloppy". Parkitect is an actual video game. I just downloaded Parkitect. I think I'll go with Parkitect! All rights reserved. Because it's just like that and even much cooler. Also you can upload to steam's workshop as load someone's build as well. But it seems to take me less than half the time it would in PC. Basic PC is only about ten bucks now and brand new parkitect (much different game play) is well worth the current price. Parkitect is great if you want that nostalgia from the original rct game, with a modern style to it. All trademarks are property of their respective owners in the US and other countries. If I had to pick one or th other, it'd be Parkitect 10/10 times. This is absolutely a Next generation "genre revival" game. Plenty of freedom to be creative in Parkitect. It's a great game. Thank yall. PC may look better and you have more freedom to build "great looking stuff". Español - Latinoamérica (Spanish - Latin America). Maybe when I have the urge (and time) to spend a week or two (as I only get to play games 1-2 hours a day), I'll set time to focus on a big PC park. You can build amazing things with it, but the simulation parts are lacking a lot in my opinion. I'll keep playing both, but I personally keep going back to Parkitect. Note: This is ONLY to be used to report spam, advertising, and problematic (harassment, fighting, or rude) posts. You can get the base game of PC right now for only ten bucks or so and the going price for parkitect (which is a much better management type game) is very fair. Planet coaster looks incredible! Building in Parkitect also great. Parkitect: A reimagining of Rollercoaster Tycoon 1 & 2. I really like the style and the way you can build your attractions and it definitely is the better tycoon game. Very similar in how the game operates with a more stylized updated look for today's graphics but still a throwback playful cute vibe. You will thank us later. You're posting in Planet Coasters forums. It's simple, if Parkitect was good you'd be in that games forums discussing that game. The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic. Parkitect is really fun. Parkitect has Go-Carts, Bumper Cars, Motion Simulators, spinning rides, tower rides, and some theaters and such as well. I want to love Planet Coaster, but I find the scenery building intimidating. Hey, actually want to buy theme park building sim and i know that parkitect and planet coaster are the best games in this genre. This game lacks a bit in the management side of things at release. Planet Coaster is a playbox. It currently has 23 flat rides compared to the 28 flat rides in Planet Coaster... however, I will say the ride variety appears to be BETTER than Planet Coaster. I'm sure you'll be happy with it. I've now completed the career mode in Planet Coaster, and frankly I don't want to spend hours upon hours in sandbox, laying scenery for no real point other than just to do it. Parkitect is great if you want that nostalgia from the original rct game, with a modern style to it. The coaster selection even has some that are better variety than Planet Coaster (Bobsled coaster and suspended coaster). Ask on the forum of Game X whether X or Y is better and discover that X is better. I prefer Parkitect because it reminds me so much of Roller Coaster Tycoon. Allowing you to create and share designs easily via steam work shop (however no mod support currently). Both are very good games in their own right. Buy both. For those of you who own both Parkitect and Planet Coaster, can you elaborate on the main differences of these two games? Parkitect is basically a more modern Rollercoaster Tycoon. But I really do love the freeform coaster building. I feel like overall PC is certainly the "better" game, but Parkitect seems to have a certain nostalgia to it that I'd really like to check out. Planet Coaster is basically an open playground to build to the smallest details. Planet Coaster is a good game in it's own way, but completely different (other than also being a theme park builder). Planet Coaster is definitely the better-looking game. I own both. + devs are planning to add more content in the future. Happy gaming! Also the management part is meaningful and it feels like a tycoon game. Your only limit really is your own imagination (just browse the steam workshop for a few minutes). (khm, price, khm dlc's *cough* greed). Parkitect is much better overall. Grid management is where Parkitect shines, but it just isn't as pretty. You are provided with a very powerful terrain editing tool set, you can easily create amazing rocks/hill formations within minutes. Mods and steam workshop are supported. There is a common misconception that Planet Coaster = Creativity and Parkitect = Management. All trademarks are property of their respective owners in the US and other countries. Additionally, the management part is rather shallow in PC. About shops and thrill rides, I'm not sure, but I think in Planet Coaster there's a bit more of stuff than in Parkitect. But you do have to appreciate the quality and detail in the PC rides. Go with Parkitect if you ask me. It's a very well funded game that's really focused on the 3D world. both are good, but PC DLC politic is garbage. Right now they're mostly spinny rides. Parkitect also has better economic and park management, even in its early stages. Well since I own and play both games I will say this PC is great looking game, you can get crazy detailed with your parks, the only downside of this game is that if you don't own a beefy PC it starts to run really slow and the FPS takes a hit once your park gets a lot of guest in it or if you have a lot of details in your park. I sit in awe and just watch my rides operate and guests move in my park for hours. If you do not believe me, just take a look at some of the screenshots taken of Parkitect. I hope more diverse rides get added to PC. If you ever played played old RollerCoaster Tycoon games, then definitely go with Parkitect and only Parkitect. Cookies help us deliver our Services. The more I play, the more I realize how creative you can be in this game and in that regard it rivals Planet Coaster. Parkitect bores me after a while. If you need only Designing then go for Planet Coaster, because campaign or management part is usuless there. Management is quite a bit more intricate and demanding than RCT 1 & 2 and provides some additional/new functionality to management that hasn't been done before. While Parkitect leans more heavily on management, you can be just as creative with Parkitect as you can with Planet Coaster. Planet Coaster - This game is all about unleashing your creativity within a theme park. I'm with you. I recommend Parkitect over PC. Sad. Especially considering I just wrapped up Career mode on Planet Coaster. There is a ton of DLC for PC which is a good or bad thing depending on how you feel about it. This game is more demanding from a systems perspective as it is very realistic with its lighting and graphics engine (Using their own Cobra Engine which is what RCT3 was built in as well as the recent Elite Dangerous).
