Food good but not excellent. I'd have expected better especially as we were lunching with an ex CMO of a major drinks company. The food was superb and the service was excellent. Mr Oliver has seen several setbacks to his business in recent years. The food was great but the occasion was a little spoiled by the number of tables that had been packed in to capitalise on the occasion. His upmarket Barbecoa steak restaurant in London's Piccadilly will close a year after it was re-launched. Thanks! We ended up skipping pudding as it was taking too long to be served. At the entrance the lady asking the coats was not very kind and took our coats quickly as I believe she was alone. The steak I got was quite chewy and the spinach salty. It was closed so we didn’t get to go - no email from Opentable to let me know though. Got there for the reservation and the restaurant had CLOSED DOWN!! My favourite resteraunt in london. Meh. The steak was cut into six pieces of about 2cm thick - still, I needed to cut into much smaller parts to be able to chew through the meat... Bad. Founded by Jamie Oliver, Barbecoa is much more than a steak restaurant – it’s a celebration of fire-based cooking and incredible, quality ingredients. The staff are professional and very welcoming. Misnamed: it was mousse with a biscuit. Incredible view overlooking Saint Paul’s Cathedral. Meal for two, including wine and service, £120 On the wall at Barbecoa, the new US-style barbecue and steak restaurant backed by Jamie Oliver… The place itself is really nice, vintage interior with a great view. Last month it announced that it was shutting down 12 of its 37 Jamie's Italian restaurants - the mainstay of the group - as part of a rescue plan with creditors that would enable it to continue trading. Delicious Chateaubriand, nice although expensive wine collection, excellent service and, .... of course... outstanding cathedral view!Jan. Other parts of his business empire have been trading strongly. Delicious rump steak indeed. I wasn’t able to cancel the booking. Great food from the £30/£35 menu. It went in to administration and no one told us. Another surprise was that server didn't check with us until we were done eating. Prices are expensive, so that menu was great for us and the food was so good! You dumb f^%&s the restaurant wasn't even open when we got there ! If you like, we’ll notify you by email if this restaurant joins. Very annoying. Which was RIGHT at the back of the restaurant. Open table is a total crock of crap , you failed to notice that this restaurant chain had gone bust ! My family had been a few years back and raved about it but since the arrival the service was not great. In the booking I had asked for a table near a window but they gave us one in a corridor saying we had to wait 40 minutes for a table one. Great service from David, food was very good too. The wait staff are professional and courteous, able and friendly. How is Barbecoa St Paul's restaurant rated? If you don’t have the view it doesn’t worth it. We had a table with St. Paul’s Cathedral View.Drinks and Food every Pound worth it!
