Abigail chronicled the entire cross-country road trip in a purple spiral-bound notebook that she still has, and has been writing ever since. There were so many stunningly beautiful observations and an almost Technicolor feel to the whole book. I waited for this book. I loved this book! Without giving too much away - there is some tragedy in here - this is ultimately a hopeful book, and an enjoyable one. EVERY OTHER WEEKEND is an exquisite rendering of childhood heartache, filtered through pre-adolescent Nenny.
